The Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) has been appointed by the Central Government under section 17 of the Act for purposes of the IT Act. The Office of the CCA came into existence on November 1, 2000. It aims at promoting the growth of E-Commerce and E- Governance through the wide use of digital signatures. The Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) has established the Root Certifying Authority (RCAI) of India under section 18(b) of the IT Act to digitally sign the public keys of Certifying Authorities (CA) in the country. The RCAI is operated as per the standards laid down under the Act.
आईटी अधिनियम के प्रयोजनों के लिए अधिनियम की धारा 17 के तहत केंद्र सरकार द्वारा प्रमाणन प्राधिकरणों के नियंत्रक (सीसीए) की नियुक्ति की गई है। सीसीए का कार्यालय 1 नवंबर 2000 को अस्तित्व में आया। इसका उद्देश्य डिजिटल हस्ताक्षरों के व्यापक उपयोग के माध्यम से ई-कॉमर्स और ई-गवर्नेंस के विकास को बढ़ावा देना है। प्रमाणन प्राधिकरणों के नियंत्रक (सीसीए) ने देश में प्रमाणन प्राधिकरणों (सीए) की सार्वजनिक कुंजी पर डिजिटल रूप से हस्ताक्षर करने के लिए आईटी अधिनियम की धारा 18 (बी) के तहत भारत के रूट प्रमाणन प्राधिकरण (आरसीएआई) की स्थापना की है। RCAI अधिनियम के तहत निर्धारित मानकों के अनुसार संचालित होता है। सीसीए प्रमाणन प्राधिकरण को डिजिटल हस्ताक्षर प्रमाणपत्र और अन्य पीकेआई सेवाएं जारी करने के लिए लाइसेंस प्रदान करता है। कुछ मुख्य प्रमाणन प्राधिकरण नीचे सूचीबद्ध हैं जिनके साथ eSolutions - Digital Signature Company संबद्ध है।
